Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our Whitby residential was cancelled twice due to the dreaded virus but we finally made it and what an amazing time we had. We stayed in the lovely Grade1 listed youth hostel - at the top of the 199 steps!! Phew - we walked up and down 5 times in three days ; that’s a lot of steps.
We had lots of seaside fun!
What a wonderful day we had celebrating the jubilee. All of our classes did so well in our showcase and we were very proud of the solo performances. This was all rounded off with a lovely picnic lunch
We all had a great time marking world science day. Each teacher planned us a fun activity and we rotated around to try them all out and learn lots of new scientific facts!
We had a wonderful day today celebrating books! We started with sharing our favourite stories in worship and then spent the day looking at books and completing fun activities linked to our books
The key stage 2 school council have had a lovely morning this morning as part of the living later life well project run by the Trinity Methodist Church
We had a chat and took part in a fun quiz !!
On Monday the 31st we were thrilled to be able to go ahead with our trip to the Mosque in Parkinson Avenue, Scunthorpe where Imam Ahmed welcomed us. We loved to see the beautiful calligraphy in Arabic and hearing the call to prayer before viewing the ablution room and seeing the colourful prayer mats before us. We recognised key features from our topic such as the minbar and got to see the madrassah upstairs where children come on an evening for classes in Arabic, reading the Qur'an and...table tennis! It has helped us so much with our current topic and bringing all of our learning together and we can't wait to learn more!
Namaste!
Friday 26th of November saw 15 RE enthusiasts and Leads from across North Lincolnshire gather at BSP for an afternoon of high quality training on Hindu Gods. We were lucky enough to have Indri, from Hinduism Education Services deliver a fully engaging and interactive session that covered: making a shrine, how to dress up as the Trimurti, Indian dance, Indian greetings, meditation and more. Indri has been a practising Hindu since he was 27 and shared his wealth of examples and knowledge from 25 years of working at a temple, time in India as well as many years delivering training to the likes of Eton College! Thanks to all the schools of North Lincolnshire that attended and their willingness to take part, discuss key issues to ensure the syllabus is delivered well and...have fun! Hope to see you all in the summer.
Today all of year 5 and 6 took a visit to the moon. We have been studying all things space this term but never imagined we would be able to get up this close to the moon! Thank you to all of the staff at Grimsby Minster for our personal workshop. It was amazing and we learned lots of new things.
We all had the most wonderful time today as we got the opportunity to watch the pantomime, Cinderella! It was fabulous to have the full production this year and made us all very excited.
Huge thanks to FOSPS for paying for us and to the amazing M and M productions
