Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We are very grateful to Imam Ahmed, a local leader of Islam from Scunthorpe, who led our act of worship today. He spoke to us about the importance of forgiveness and how we should aiim to reflect on our actions each day. It was lovely to welcome him into our school once more.
Thankyou, Imam Ahmed.
Thank you to all of our families who have contributed to our recent family reading survey - we are delighted with the fantastic response and the wonderful comments. Thank you for taking your time to complete the questionnaire.
Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing feedback with staff so that we can acknowledge the things you have said - the many positives and also the things that you would like us to address or work on. Don't forget, the first port of call if you have a query about your child's reading is their class teacher; they will only be too pleased to help and assist you.
Lena in Year 1 and Daniel in Year 2 were the lucky prize winners and have ordered some new books to take home with them! Well done Lena and Daniel!
Thank you
Wow! After just the first 7 days of our Reading Plus trial...take a look at these statistics...
So far participating pupils have:
1. Read an average of 8 texts each
2. already read 98,243 words
3. demonstrated an average comprehension of 78%
4. improved their reading fluency by an average of 3 words per minute
This is fantastic news - we are so pleased that the children are making such rapid progress in their reading (and we know that they're enjoying it too!
Reading Plus can be accessed on all e-devices, including Xboxes and Playstations - we would love it if children could access the programme and keep up during the half term break!
Thank you for your continued support.
