  • Barton's Rememberance Day Parade

    Many thanks to all of the families who joined us today at the parade and service.  We were very well represented. A special thanks to Chloe, our school council chair, who laid a wreath on our behalf.

    What a fantastic week for attendance!

     

    3 classes  achieved 100% attendance for the full week.

     

    2 classes achieved 99% attendance for the full week.

     

    This is fantastic news - thank you too all parents/carers for their support in making sure that children arrive in school, on time, everyday.

  • Humanist Visit

    Julia Beckett, local Humanist, led an assembly in school this morning introducing us to the world of Humanism. 

     

    Year 6 then took part in a special workshop around the question: 'Can you be good without gods or religion?' as part of their current learning in Religious Education. 

     

    The children had a morning of questions and deep thinking - thank you Julia!

    This morning we received delivery of an exciting new book called Ancient Adventures.  What makes this even more exciting is that some of our Year 6 children are authors of stories in the book.

  • Team BSP does Deepdale Dash

    This morning a team of hardy runners braved the cold to take part in the Barton and District Athletics Club Deepdale Dash fun run. The children ran iether 1km or 2km.  They were all amazing! Miss Brack, Miss Oxley and Mrs Hogg ran the 10k

  • Kwik Sticks Tournament Success

    On Friday 1st November Miss Chapman and Mrs Brack took some Year 5 and 6 to our first ever Kwik Sticks Hockey tournament at App Frod. We came 4th out of 18 teams! Cracking result!

    We were very proud of the exceptional behaviour of the teams, commented on by the tournament organisers.

  • Archbishop of York Youth Trust Young Leaders Award

    Today our Year 6 children were presented with their awards for their leadership awards. Last year they completed a range of projects in the local and wider community based around the statement " Be the change you want to see"

    They completed many tasks to achieve this award and we are very proud of them all
